Pchum Ben day was a day of the break and also was a day for me to celebrate. Everyone comes from different directions to find their home to come to see their lovely parent during the celebrated day. It such an amazing and fantastic day for all the people gathering to meet their family. Morning came and the sunrise up like an orange with the blue water around make sensational scenery. I already got up at 6 to help my parent cook food to go to a pagoda. Everyone wore nice and clean clothes and ready to go. For me, I wore a white shirt and black jeans like the government school uniform. My parents and my siblings wore great Khmer traditional clothes. Now it was a time for me to go to the pagoda and celebrate the Pchum benday.

Step to another step and I already arrived at the pagoda, I felt so natural because tree around the pagoda and the birds singing and the monks chanting. I saw a lot of people came to the pagoda to celebrate their own religion including me. Everyone looks serious, quiet and tidy and the monks were chanting and the citizens were sitting listening to the monks. My family meets together. Everyone smile and everyone cheer. When I saw people go to the pagoda, it reminds of the day of 10 October 2017, it was a day that my parent and I went to a pagoda together. After I went to a pagoda, I felt pieces and my heart calms in front of the Buddhist. Pchum Ben was a big celebration in Cambodia, My mom didn’t give the gift to me in that day but she gave a bright and happiest life to me and that was the biggest gift ever that you never forgot even though you are a teachers, doctors, professors, students, workers, engineers, and etc. You will never ever forgot the day that you started your life.

I spend more than two hours in the pagoda with my parents and all of my old friends in a government school and we were play together while my parents stay in the pagoda with my siblings. I enjoy this holiday and everyone get a day off from work. Sleep and got up and again sleep and got up, it was the day of the holiday over and the day of school. I said goodbye to my lovely family and goodbye everything around my house and something that I spend time with and I will see you again when the Pchum Ben celebration come again.
